TECHNICAL SKILLS
The core values of Skylla “Skills Ahead” are represented here at the technical skills. We have the latest techniques available at our production facilities and we invest in our employees to have the know-how of these techniques. Therefore we also invest in the new and high-quality machines for them to work with.

Automation
We try to automatize processes as much as possible in our production facilities. By doing so we can not only speed up a process but it is more efficient and the product will have a more finished look as well. Therefore we invested in machines that we can program for examples crossboxes and special pockets for magnets.

Ultrasonic and High frequency welding
One of the latest techniques is ultrasonic and high frequency welding. We have both technique implemented in our production facility and using these techniques can have lots of benefits. With welding there is no thread and needle therefore there are no holes in the fabric. These types of seems can be more powerful and have the benefit of preventing contaminations, they are water and airtight. Also from an esthetic point of view a choice for welding can be made.

Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD-CAM)
Manual pattern-matching can be time consuming. By using our Lectra machine with CAD-CAM software suite we can save time in this costly process and optimize fabric use right from the start. The Lectra machine pulls the fabric through a set of camera’s and cutters and together with the software it matches the pattern of the fabric and cuts it as efficiently as possible. CAD-CAM is most often used with leather or leather related fabrics.

Die Cutting
With the use of a die cutting machine we again can save time on manual pattern- matching by using specially made blades for a specific pattern. A die can best be compared to a cookie cutter. It’s sharp edges are pressed through layers of fabric creating a stack of these parts.
